Chairman of the Board 

Tim Tremain
MTH Pumps

Tim is the President of MTH Tool Company, Inc. in Plano.  Also known as MTH Pumps, they are manufacturers of high pressure, low flow regenerative turbine and many other custom designed OEM pumps.  Since Tim took over the company from the founder and his father, Dave Tremain, he has championed the effort to modernize the company with the latest manufacturing equipment and techniques, and to institute an ISO 9001:2008 quality system that has propelled the company to the top of its class in the niche markets it serves.   Tim has been on our Board since 2014.  We are looking forward to working with Tim as he begins his new role, as Chairman in 2018.

Aaron Nosek
Keson Industries

Aaron Nosek has been the President of Keson Industries since 2009.   Keson was founded by Aaron's grandfather, Roy Nosek, in the basement of his Berwyn home. The company was named by inverting the letters of their Nosek family name.  After receiving his Law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1996, Aaron practiced law and then worked in private industry for several years before joining Keson in 2001.  His primary responsibilities now include removing obstacles that get in the way of his executive team and employees performing to the best of their abilities.  Additional responsibilities include overseeing strategic vision, planning and budgeting, operational execution,  vendor and customer relations and corporate culture.  Aaron has been on our Board of Directors since 2014 and will be our Vice Chairman in 2018, assuming the Chairman position in 2019. 


Jerald M. Murphy
Sikich LLP

Jerald M. Murphy, CPA, CMA, CGMA, has more than 24 years of experience and is the Partner heading Sikich's manufacturing and distribution services team. Jerry is a Certified Management Accountant as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He specializes in assurance services and provides business advisory services in areas such as operations improvement, strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions.  Jerry's position on the Board as Treasurer began in 2015, replacing another member of his firm.  Sikich has been a valued partner to the VIA, providing us with a Treasurer for decades and also sponsoring our HR Hotline as a benefit to our Membership.

Craig Russell
Monitor Technologies, LLC.

As Owner of Monitor Technologies, LLC in Elburn, Craig is responsible for setting the the growth and vision of the company and augments the international sales and product management functions.  Monitor manufacturers instrumentation for level measurement and inventory management for powder and bulk solids applications. Craig began his career at Monitor, working his way up from a part-time electronics technician during his university studies, progressing to design engineer and engineering manager before purchasing the business in 2008.  Monitor Technologies has been a member of the VIA since 2005 and Craig joined our Board of Directors in 2012.  We have been blessed to have his unwavering support and leadership this year as Chairman. 



Kathy Gilmore
Valley Industrial Association

As the 10th President of the Valley Industrial Association, Kathy expands on her previous role as Membership Manager to best serve area manufacturers and the businesses that serve them. Kathy brings an entrepreneurial spirit to the VIA having 20 years' experience as an upper level sales director for a Chicago-land kitchenwares company. Rounding out her sales experience with an MBA from Aurora University in 2017, she has some fresh ideas for the 115 year old organization. Kathy firmly believes that the successful future of Manufacturing depends upon working with our community and educational partners to continue to increase knowledge among local manufacturers and increase awareness of our vibrant manufacturing companies in the community. 

Spencer Christiansen
J.C. Schultz Enterprises, Inc./
Spencer Christiansen is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at J.C. Schultz Enterprises, Inc. /FlagSource located in Batavia.  Founded in 1920, Flagsource is a full-line flag and banner manufacturing company that makes US flags, state flags, international flags and custom flags and banners.  Spencer started working for the company in high school in 1987 and has worked his way up to be one of the leaders in the organization.  He is a fourth generation owner and is joined in business with two other family members, Janice Christiansen, President & CEO, and Jon Christiansen, COO.  Flagsource has been a member of the VIA for over 20 years. Spencer joined our Board of Directors in 2017.

Don Dardis is the President of  DuKane Precast. 


Mike Franzen

 Grundfos Water Utility, Inc

Mike Franzen is the new Regional Machining Strategy/Project Manager for Grundfos  Water Utility Inc.  In his new position, he will be working with three of their locations.  In his former role he managed the operations of the Aurora location for the past 5 years. Grundfos, has been a member of the VIA for over 20 years. With his strong  background in Operations and Management, and deep roots in the community we are thrilled to have him as a new member of the Board. 

Gail Hernly
Tek Pak, Inc.
 Gail Hernly serves as CFO of Tek Pak, Inc., Batavia.  Tek Pak provides design, development and manufacturing for rigid, semi-rigid and flexible custom thermoformed Products and packaging. In Gail's role as CFO, she oversees Finance, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing.  Gail has 30 plus years’ of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing with 25 of that in the thermoforming industry.  Gail has served on our Board of Directors since 2014.   




Stacia Hobson,
Image Industries, Inc.

Stacia is the Co-owner of Image Industries, Inc. located in Huntley, IL.  Image Industries offers complete stud welding solutions and supplies for the welding applications. Stacia started with the company in 1987 as a receptionist working in every aspect of the business.  She assisted in restructuring the company from distribution to manufacturer and acquired ownership in 2000,  tripling the amount of sales.  Currently, Stacia is involved in procurement and production management.  Stacia Hobson joined the VIA Board of Directors in 2016. 

Jamie Knorring
B-O-F Corp.

Jamie Knorring is the President of B-O-F Corp. in Aurora. B-O-F Corp. is a manufacturer of specialty shelving for retail stores. Their most common line is gravity flow shelving for inside of coolers.  With their most used products, when you take a gallon of milk or a six pack of beer, the next one slides down.  B-O-F has been in business for more than 60 years.  Jamie's vast experience and background in sales & business helped him to return profitability to the company when he became the President in 2012. Jamie joined the VIA Board of Directors in 2017.  


Dan LaTurno
Aurora Specialty Textiles Group, Inc

Dan has worked at Aurora Specialty Textile Group (ASTG) for 16 years, the last 3 years as President. ASTG is a Charter member of the VIA as they began production near downtown Aurora in 1883. ASTG is a textile bleaching, dyeing and coating operation. Their traditional products go into the athletic, medical and industrial markets. The real growth area for them now is the printable textile market, e.g.- signage, pictures and canvas prints. Dan oversaw the transition of their entire manufacturing operation from the original building on the Fox river to a newer building in Yorkville. This $15M project spanned 3 years, but positions ASTG as a world-class manufacturing operation. Dan graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Business Administration and went back to complete his MBA in 2002. 

Dave Maday
Jamar Packaging 

Dave Maday is the Vice President, Sales and Co-owner of JaMar Packaging.  JaMar, a sustainable packaging supplier located in West Chicago, offers packaging solutions made from recycled materials.  Dave started working in packaging and fulfillment at the age of 12. During college, he worked his way through school working production on 2nd and 3rd shift.  Dave's main responsibilities include new sales development, strategic planning development and follow up, process management and  continuous improvement planning and development.   Dave has been a part of the VIA Board since 2014.

Giles Miller is the President of Phoenix Closures.





Linda Reilly Murphy

Metalloy Company

Linda Reilly Murphy is the President of Metalloy Company.   Metalloy, located in St. Charles, is a family owned tool room, die and mold making distributor, serving the midwest since 1969.  Linda's
responsibilities include direct sales and overall company sales, supplier and manufacturer management along with general administrative/financial management and hiring.
Linda initially sold tool steel and machined parts after college while contemplating attending law school. She started working for Metalloy Company in 1980 and purchased the business in 1995 with her brother, Dan.  Linda has been on our Board of Directors since 2016. 

Aneesa Muthana

Pioneer Service Inc.

Aneesa Muthana is the President and co-owner of Pioneer Service Inc..  Pioneer Service, located in Addison, is a certified women-owned and operated small business (WBE/WOSB) providing precision machined parts since 1990. Aneesa is a passionate, ambitious entrepreneur who has built her business on the strengths of
financial savviness, interpersonal skills, strong work ethics and giving back to the community. Aneesa joined the VIA Board of Directors in 2017. 


Jeff Szkalerk
Producers Chemical 

Jeff is the new President of Producers Chemical, a full-service local distributor of industrial chemicals. Producers has been a member of the VIA since 2011.  Jeff has his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's Degree in Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota,  and was recently promoted to President from his CFO position. Prior to joining Producers Chemical, Jeff Szklarek worked as a Senior Accountant for Zimmer, Inc, a global manufacturer of orthopedic products based in Warsaw, IN.   Jeff has also worked in accounting roles for Cardinal Health Corporation and Deloitte & Touche, LLC.  Even though Jeff is one of our newest Board members, Jeff has been a regular at the VIA for several years and has been a great support to the Association through his company and personal attendance and participation.  

Dr. Christine J. Sobek
Waubonsee Community College

Dr. Christine J. Sobek became the fourth president of Waubonsee Community College on July 1, 2001. In this role, she is responsible for the overall leadership of the college — which serves more than 19,000 credit and non-credit students each year, employs approximately 1,400 faculty and staff, and offers educational programs and services at a network of four permanent campuses located across the 624-square-mile college district and through extensive online offerings.  Waubonsee has partnered with the VIA on educational offerings for decades, offering one of our most popular trainings, 7 Seminars for Supervisors.  Dr. Sobek has been on the VIA Board of Directors since 2014. 

Shane Tredup
Custom Aluminum

Shane Tredup is the Vice President of Operations at Custom Aluminum Products, a leader in the aluminum extrusion industry with in-house processes including extrusion, fabrication, finishing, and assembling of aluminum extrusions for a wide variety of industries.  Shane began his career at Custom Aluminum working part-time in high school and graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Manufacturing Systems.  He received his MBA in Business Administration from Aurora University in 2005. With a passion for education in the workplace, Shane has been instrumental in the development of the company’s education program named “Custom University” in partnership with state colleges and high schools.  This program has become an educational model and led to a statewide award. Shane is just beginning his Board term with us this year. 

Matt Winkle

Matt Winkle is the President and Co-Owner of the Weldstar Company in Aurora, IL.  Weldstar is one the countries strongest Independent distributors of Industrial welding supplies and accessories.  In addition, Weldstar is a provider of gases to both the industrial and scientific markets. Weldstar has four locations across Illinois and Indiana.  In his capacity as President, Matt helps oversee all aspects of Weldstar’s business including sales, marketing, finance, and growth strategies.   Matt has been a member of our Board of Directors since 2014.
